BRIAN GORE: BIOGRAPHY
Known as the “Guitar Poet,” Brian Gore’s heartfelt and evocative style masterfully blends Folk, Jazz, and Americana influences. The fingerstyle guitarist and singer songwriter’s performances are a double dose of insightful lyrics and pristine guitar.
Brian honed his craft in San Francisco during the fingerstyle heyday of William Ackerman’s “Windham Hill” and the revolutionary Michael Hedges. A pioneering guitarist in his own right, early on, he adopted techniques like multiple capos, slapping, tapping, and percussion.
“Gore’s strong, well-developed melodies and intriguing chord sequences set him apart from the myriad of steel-string fingerstyle guitarists who compose in open tunings.”

He went on to found International Guitar Night (IGN) earning his reputation the hard way, one show at a time, performing in duet and quartet with guitar greats Ralph Towner, Pierre Bensusan, Andrew York, Guinga, Sylvan Luc, Martin Taylor, Lulo Reinhardt, Marco Pereira, and Mike Dawes.
“Absolutely beautiful. Great work.”
– Steve Vai, Guitarist
As a singer songwriter, he expanded his palette to include harp guitar, foot drums, and percussion. Brian’s singer songwriter debut, Seek the Love You’re Yearning, features legendary pedal steel player Greg Leisz, and bassist Michael Manring.
“The album, ‘Seek the Love You’re Yearning’ is a deeply heartfelt, folk-infused journey that bares Gores’ vulnerability, something refreshing in an age of artifice.

It’s a musical hope that everyone can find the courage to reject their past neglect and abuse, and, in turn, seek their heart’s desire.
Brian performs solo, in double bills with Michael Manring, Grammy Winner Jim Kimo West, and Canada’s Itamar Erez. He also recently founded Worlds of Song, a show similar to IGN, but featuring singer-songwriters. It will debut in 2025 on the U.S. West Coast with Brian, Badi Assad, Fabiola Mendez, and Hubby Jenkins. In 2026, the show will tour Europe with Brian, Badi, Loah, and Laura Silverstone.
